Move a Little Each Day

Do something -- anything -- active every day. If you go outside to get the mail, walk around the neighborhood for five minutes. When you get cabin fever at your desk, stretch your legs around the office or do 50 jumping jacks on your lunch break. Any time you move, you rev up your metabolism and burn a few extra calories; these can really add up over the course of a day, week, month and year. Just standing up while working burns more calories and is better for your circulation than sitting down. Even when you’re exhausted and don’t want to move, think of this: no matter what little movement you do, you’re doing way more than the people sitting on their couches.
