1. Volunteer to serve food at a local homeless shelter or food pantry. It is a humbling experience and really reminds one to be thankful for everything that they have.
2. Donate to food pantries or local groups who take Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners to people who need them.
3. Go caroling at or volunteer at a retirement home.
4. Write letters to/send care packages to our soldiers overseas.
5. Consider sponsoring a child in a third world country. Less than a dollar a day really can change a life!
6. Adopt a new pet from an animal shelter, or volunteer to play with/walk/feed the animals there if you can't adopt any.
7. Clean out your closet and donate to a shelter or clothing drive. Chances are you have things in your closet that you haven't worn in awhile, and those things could make a great difference for someone in need! Clean out your shoe collection too and donate the ones you no longer wear to Soles 4 Souls!
8. Teach your kids/siblings to give to others. Allow them to pick out a toy to give to a child through toys for tots!
9. Have a can drive. You could have a Christmas party and ask everyone to bring a can. There are organizations like Feeding America and City Harvest that can help!
10. Reconnect with old friends/neighbors. Share baked goods with those around you. Just pay it forward in any way that you can! :)
