Engagement photos are fantastic for save-the-date cards, thank you notes, and other wedding announcements. Here are five tips to make them perfect, from the Wedding Protector Plan.
1) Find the Right Photographer. It is important for the bride and groom to find a qualified photographer who fits the bride and grooms personality and style. The photographer will be the person with the couple throughout the engagement session and wedding day.
2. Location, Location, Location. The location should be beautiful but also a a place the couple would enjoy.
3. Time of Day. If the photo session is outdoors, be prepared for an early sunrise session or late afternoon session. If the shoot is primarily indoors, then the time of the session will vary based on the location. A great photographer will be able to handle different times of day as well as different lighting situations.
4. What to Wear. The bride and groom should buy a few new outfits. The outfits should be their style and blend well together. Avoid outfits that match exactly. Brides should dress their outfits up with accessories as well as spend some time being pampered (nails, hair and make-up) before the session.
5. Relax and Have Fun. The best engagement portraits happen when the bride and groom are just enjoying each other and they forget about that awesome dorky photographer behind the camera. When the couple takes the time to talk, laugh and enjoy the session they will have one of many fun memories of their engagement season.
