Bikes are like mechanical pets, and require a little love and affection. Care and feeding for bikes is quite simple, and with a little knowledge everyone can learn to care for their two-wheeled companion. The most important things to pay attention to on your bike are the ABC systems: the Air in your tires, the Brakes, and the Chain.
Air - Check the air in your tires before you hop on your bike in the morning. Riding with low tire pressure can cause tube punctures which requires repairing or replacing your tube. If your tires are low you can pump them up at one of the free Fixit Repair Stations throughout downtown or at Trent.

Brakes - Rocketing through the streets at top speed is a huge thrill, but you still need to be able to stop. Check your brake pads to make sure that they are not worn out, and make sure that you are able to stop in a safe distance. If you are having troubles stopping head into a bike shop to get them checked out.
Chain - You are the engine and your chain is the transmission. One is no good without the other. Check your chain regularly to make sure that it is lubed, shifting properly and not rusty. If your chain is noisy you should check it!
