If you find yourself hitting a plateau in your fitness routine, switching up your routine can help get you through it. While alternating between weights, cardio and circuit training is great, your body can get used to this routine and stop progressing like you want it to. Think outside the switch-up box: if you usually use dumbbells, try using a barbell or a weight machine. If you're a machine or barbell junkie, try using free weights, weighted medicine balls or resistance bands.
