Airlines have put pretty serious restrictions on how much your suitcase can weight, and how many pieces of luggage you can bring with you on a flight. Be sure to check out these restrictions before you fly -- not just on a general travel website, but with the individual airline on which you're flying. Airlines differ greatly, anywhere from two bags flying for free to one bag under 40 pounds flying for 25 dollars...and one pound over will run you an extra 100 dollar penalty! If you're traveling somewhere and know you'll be bringing back goodies and gifts, take that into consideration and leave space in your suitcase to avoid a heavy bag fee on your way home.
