Bag for waste; Wet warm sponge; Stain remover; Dry paper toweling or rags
Using the paper toweling, pick up any solid pieces and discard in the bag. This could as nice as noodles from your soup, or as nasty as pet vomit. Next spray the entire area with the stain remover. I like spot shot because it removes EVERYTHING and deodorizes too. Rub the spot with the warm wet sponge, working the stain remover into the carpet fibers. Now you may either blot the entire area with the paper toweling, discarding each piece into your trash bag as you go, or, you may rinse out your sponge and repeat the process before blotting. Once you have blotted up all the excess dampness, tie up your bag of debris and wet paper towels, and discard it neatly in the trash. Wash out your sponge thoroughly for the next little mess.
