Before getting on your bike, get to know your rights and responsibilities as a cyclist. Bicycles follow the same rules as any other automobile on the road, with a few exceptions. Check out the Ontario Cycling Skills manual (http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/pubs/cycling-guide/index.shtml) to get in the know. The most important rules of the road are to stay visible and be predictable. Make sure that drivers can see you, and that they know what you are doing. Be a defensive rider.
