Does your organization offer unique volunteer opportunities that target a youth demographic? If you are not already engaging youth, maybe it's time. Young people can bring fresh ideas and new energy to your organization! They also bring innovative skillsets (i.e. knowledge of new technology). It is important to realize that youth volunteers are less-likely to make a long term commitment to an organization so, expect a higher turnover. Youth volunteers may also require more time to train and supervise. Also, keep in mind that youth volunteers like incentives- they may expect tangible rewards and recognition that differs from other volunteers.
