Whatever reason you want to try and eat "healthier" whether it be for actual health reasons or a spot of vanity, don't view attempt at change as going on a diet.
Why? Because a "diet" is temporary.
Technically, a diet is anything that you eat habitually, but that's besides the point...
If you really want to make significant changes to your body in a natural way you will have to do more than make better food choices (and please please don't skip meals, you're hurting yourself not helping) for a short period of time.
For real results you'll have to change your lifestyle. You don't have to give up everything, but you need to learn more, avoid the myths, become more active (even 10 minutes of exercise a day will add up. Sparkpeople.com is a great place to start for tips, videos, etc) , and be determined to make real changes.
Work towards a healthier, stronger, more energized you every day, not just when you want to fit into a certain piece of clothing.
Also, make sure you surround yourself with positive reinforcement!
Have at it!
