Planning a wedding is such an exciting time, but it' can also be a very expensive headache!
Recently, when looking at a venue for my own impending nuptials, a quoted hire charge quadrupled when we mentioned that we were in fact hosting a wedding. There were no extras thrown in, no change in date or duration, the only difference was the mention of the W word. And this seems to be an idustry-wide phenomenon.
Which is why my tip, though slightly sneaky, is to negotiate and get written quotes from suppliers for a "family celebration" before you drop the W bomb. The will then have to honour their original quotes without adding on the dreaded wedding tax!
