DON’T - the 4-letter word that can insidiously work against your desired state. When we precede a statement with “Don’t”, the mind only registers the words that follow “don’t”.
If I say “Don’t think about the pink elephant in the middle of the room”, your mind instantly visualizes a pink elephant in the middle of the room.
If you say to your son “Don’t forget to call home after school” the possibility that he might “forget” is now in his head.
How often does that 4-letter word creep into your language –both with others and with your self-talk?
To open possibilities that move you forward in a positive fashion, ask for what you DO WANT, instead of what you “DON’T” want.
Remember: Where thought goes, energy flows.
