If you live in a loud apartment, house with roommates, condo or dorm room, you know all too well how annoying it is to be kept awake or woken up by random noises. If you can stand the white noise, turn on a small, quiet fan and let it run all night. The mechanical drone will block out any low-level noises (cars starting, your neighbor’s washer, doors closing, your bed partner snoring). On top of the fan, use earplugs to block out higher-pitched noises (dogs barking, babies crying, sirens). This combination leads to an amazing night of rest. Safety note: be sure you can still hear your smoke detectors or fire alarms in your building.
