Being a cashier can be stressful, but it’s also a good entry level position for a young employee. Nick Petr gave some insights on how to be a good cashier.
For one, he said, don’t socialize or make conversation when the line is long; it will frustrate customers and make your job harder. Also, if you can’t do something quickly and there is a line, call a manger so the issue will be resolved quickly. Lastly, and most importantly, never let rude customers get to you; if you come back at them, it will accomplish nothing and could lose you your job.
