If you want to attract goldfinches and songbirds to your feeder, but you don't want the thorny thistles that grow beneath the feeder from thistle seed, try filling the bird feeder with sunflower oilers. They attract a large variety of songbirds, and other pesky birds, like crows and starlings, aren't interested because they prefer corn.
