When I go on trips, I have an extremely hard time unpacking my suitcase in a timely fashion when I come home. In order to not leave my suitcase sitting in my foyer for two weeks, I've started doing this after a trip: when I first come home, I empty my entire suitcase out onto my bed. That way, I have to unpack my bags in order to get some sleep. Yes, you could theoretically move all the items to the floor, but unpacking is easier.
