Whenever you sign up for an auto-shipment of something, whether it is prescription meds, your favorite coffee from the coffee club, or a cleaning product your ordered from an infomercial, mark the expected delivery date(s) on your calendar so you won't be surprised by that charge on your credit card, and so you won't forget to check your front porch for that $20 a pound coffee. Do the same for auto payments. The satellite TV bill, the mortgage, and your electric bill are all payments you don't want to miss and you will remember to deduct them from the checking account if they are listed on your calendar. What good is it if you have $20 coffee if you're sitting in the dark with no TV and a mortgage foreclosure notice?
