When purchasing new equipment, make your focus be on the equipment fitting properly. Hockey equipment is expensive and the tendency of many parents is naturally to try and stretch equipment life over two years--maybe buying 2 sizes too big at first.
The trouble is that this poses safety issues for the player if they are not using good fitting equipment--and it can compromise the player's performance, too.
There are sources of equipment for every budget so focus on having the right-fitting equipment for your child.
