After speaking with an old professor of mine about how he managed to write a dozen or so books in addition to numerous magazine articles, he restated something I remember him saying several years back in one of my first classes with him. One of the most important aspects of writing is figuring out your own writing rhythm, what works best for you to produce your best work, and still to it. Whether it's making yourself write ten hours a day, staying up all night to write, listening to jazz, eating biscuits or setting aside a few hours a day. Regularity and discipline are what helps the most.
