We all have to deal with situations in which we don’t have control over the outcome. But we can control how we mentally deal with the situation. Getting involved in a young-onset support group has helped me because I can learn, take notes, and get comfort from people in the same situation. I strongly believe the key is to focus on what you can do, because that is a positive approach, as opposed to dwelling on what you can’t do. One thing that I can do is to use my energy and enthusiasm to help raise money for research and also to create awareness about the disease.
