Sunburns are awful, especially when you're on an active vacation and can't lie around on your stomach whimpering all day long while the skin on your back blisters. Aloe gel is everyone's favorite go-to, but there are other remedies that work well on the swelling, redness, and pain of a nasty sunburn. Put wet black tea bags in the freezer for five minutes and gently apply them to your sunburn -- the caffeine and antioxidants calm the redness and irritation. Place a wet washcloth in the freezer for 10 minutes and gently hold it to the burn -- cold immediately soothes the burning sensation. If the burn is so bad you can't sleep or you need to get up and move, take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory (like Aleve or Motrin) to control the swelling and pain.
