One thing that helped me in my darkest days when I was drowning in debt was always finding something to look forward to each day. As silly as it may sound, breakfast was that something for me. I ate my bowl of cereal and toast in peace, oblivious to how bad the upcoming day would be, or how many creditors might call me. I completely enjoyed that time. Often the day would go downhill immediately after that meal, but I knew that there would be another breakfast the next day. There is always something—even if it’s small—that you can look forward to.
