Food and questionable gunk of all varieties get built up on your garbage disposal blades, and it's definitely not a good idea to stick your hands anywhere near the disposal! Use this tip to get the blades clean: dump 15-20 ice cubes and one lemon (cut into wedges) down the disposal and run it. Chopping up the ice removes much of the debris from the blades, while the lemons kill bacteria and leave your disposal smelling citrusy-fresh.
