If you need to commit something to memory quickly, make up an acronym for the letters. For example, if you want to remember someone's license plate number, QIM82S, you could say "Quite Impossible Memorizing 82 Songs." You really won't forget it. I still remember my acronym from 7th grade to remember Kingdom, Phylum, Order, Class, etc. in science class. (For the record, it was Kangaroos Poop On Foreign Ground Squirrels).
