When traveling, guided tours can be really great. You can see and learn a lot your first or even fifth time in a city. But locals really know the hot spots. Each city you travel to will have its own quirks and hidden treasures that won't be on your tour bus route. Instead, ask someone at a local restaurant for tips. See some friendly faces at a coffee shop? Ask them where the best pizza in town is or where you can dance the night away. People are proud of their cities and love sharing their favorite places.
