Use a Coffee Filter as a Microwave Splatter Shield

Lots of things pop and splatter in the microwave, and some are harder to scrape away than others once they've exploded (I'm looking at you, tomato soup and spaghetti). Enter the easiest splatter-preventing bowl cover ever: the coffee filter. Take a standard flat-bottomed, disposable coffee filter, flip it upside down, and place it over the bowl or plate before you pop it in the microwave. Your splatters will be trapped and you can toss the filter when you're done with it.
