Songs are a nice way to let early elementary kids know what to expect next in the classroom. For example, singing the "clean up song" or a gentle "find your seat and rest your legs" song to guide kids back to their desks or tables. A few rote greetings are useful too. What a nice perk for a guest visitor to be greeted with an in-unison "welcome to our classroom!"
