Do you dread hearing your alarm clock go off? Is your bed just too comfortable to jump out of in the morning? Here are a few things to try to get yourself moving in the morning.
1. Put your alarm clock out of reach. Try placing it across the room, so you can still see it, but not reach it. Also, if you can get a programmable alarm that can play music, try Slayer's "Raining Blood". Guaranteed to have you jumping out of the sack.
2. Get up immediately. Don't give yourself the opportunity to fall back asleep or get too comfortable. Once you are awake, get up and get moving. Also, if you wake up before you planned and feel somewhat awake, get moving. If you play the dangerous "just five more minutes" game, you will wake up in five minutes more tired than you felt before!
3. Take a shower. The water will gradually wake you up. Towards the end of your shower, gradually make the water colder and colder. This will really bring your alertness levels up.
4. Make your bed! You won't be tempted to jump back in after taking the time to make it look nice. Also, it's a good way to start your day by having even the slightest sense of accomplishment. Before you leave the house, you're already getting things done!
